Collier County, FL—October 8, 2012: Voter registration books for the November 6th General Election close tomorrow, October 9th. New voters must be registered by the end of day tomorrow in order to vote in this election. Once the registration books close, new voter registration applications are accepted for subsequent elections only.

The main Elections office in the Collier Government Complex, 3295 Tamiami Trail East will extend its hours tomorrow to 8:00 p.m. to accommodate additional new registrants.

To register, eligible citizens must complete a voter registration application form. Application forms are available at the CollierVotes.com "Register to Vote" web page, the Supervisor of Elections offices (Collier Government Complex and Orange Blossom satellite), driver license offices, public libraries, government satellite offices, recruitment offices of the armed forces, and state agencies that provide public assistance and services to disabled residents.

Application forms must be printed, signed and returned to the Supervisor of Elections office. Applications returned by mail must be postmarked by October 9th.

To verify voter registration status, registered voters may go online to the CollierVotes.com “Am I Registered” web page. Civilian voters who have moved to Collier County from another Florida county should report their address change to the Supervisor of Elections office via phone, online, in person or in writing before Tuesday, November 6, 2012, or they will be statutorily required to vote a provisional ballot. Military voters and their dependents are exempt from this requirement.
