The US Postal Service has changed its First-Class Mail service standards

Collier County, Fla.— August 17, 2016: Last year, election officials were notified by the USPS that their standard for local delivery of First-Class Mail would change from 1.8 days to 2.1 days for deliveries within the state. Deliveries outside of the state may take several days. Although this change may seem minimal, it could affect voters who cast their ballot by mail.

Voted ballots must be physically returned (not just postmarked) to the Supervisor of Elections office by 7 p.m. on Election Day, August 30, 2016. The United States Postal Service recommends that voters mail their voted ballots one week before the due date to account for any unforeseen events such as weather issues and to allow for timely receipt and processing by the elections office.

If you have questions on the status of your Vote-by-Mail ballot, please contact the Collier County Supervisor of Elections office at (239)252-VOTE or track your ballot online at www.CollierVotes.com.
