Collier County, Fla.— December 10, 2018: The Collier County Supervisor of Elections office is proud to announce the winning artists for the 2018 Art for Democracy Contest: Vy Vo of Gulfview Middle School and Elyssa Chevalier of Palmetto Ridge High School.

A call for entries took place between October 4 and November 15, 2018 and students were challenged to create a piece of artwork that expressed the meaning of democracy. Among the 65 submitted works of art, 12 winning entries have been selected to appear in 2019 Supervisor of Elections office publications.

A reception for the winning artists will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 19, at the East West Gallery, 9115 Strada Place #5130 (in Mercato).

Student artwork will be on display from January 23 through April 15 at the Naples Art Association, 585 Park St., Naples, FL 34102. This marks the first year of the contest that student artwork will be displayed at a public venue.
