NEWS RELEASE: Elections Office Announces Winners of the Art for Democracy Art Contest

Collier County, Fla.—December 12, 2017: The Collier County Supervisor of Elections office is proud to announce the winning artists for the 2017 Art for Democracy contest: Bianca Bernstein of Mason Classical Academy and the Gulfview Middle School’s Art Department.

A call for entries took place between October 5 and November 16 and students were challenged to create a piece of artwork that expresses the meaning of democracy. Among the 145 submitted works of art, six winning entries were selected to appear in election publications between 2018 and 2019, including in the 2018 Election Calendar.

A reception for the winning artists will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 20, at the East West Fine Art Gallery located at 2425 Tamiami Trail N. #102, Naples FL 34103.

The Supervisor of Elections office partnered with the Collier County Public Schools and Champions For Learning during this year’s contest. For more information about the Art for Democracy project, please visit www.CollierVotes.com or call (239) 252-VOTE.
