State law (section 101.043, Florida Statutes) requires a person to bring photo and signature identification before a person can vote.
The acceptable forms of identification are:
Florida driver license
Florida identification card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
United States passport
Debit or credit card
Military identification
Student identification
Retirement center identification
Neighborhood association identification
Public assistance identification.
The voter identification cards voters received in the mail from the Elections office are not approved ID and are not necessary at the polls.
However, if a person does not bring an acceptable form of identification, the person can still vote a provisional ballot. A person who votes a provisional ballot will be given written notice of his or her rights as a provisional ballot voter.
