You are a citizen and are (or will be) 18 years old by Election Day. You may pre-register at age 17 or if you have obtained a Florida driver license before your 17th birthday but you cannot vote until age 18.
You are a resident of Florida and of Collier County.
You have never been convicted of a felony, never been declared mentally incapacitated, or you have had your civil rights restored if you were a convicted felon or declared mentally incapacitated.

You may register at the driver's license office, various social agencies, and the public library.
HOW TO CHANGE REGISTRATION
You may complete a voter registration application that indicates your change of name, party affiliation, or change of address, or you may complete an affirmation for change of name or address at the polls. Click HERE to complete an on-line application designed for printing and mailing. After this information has been received and processed by the Elections Office, a new voter registration card will be mailed to you. Since you must vote in the precinct where you reside, it is important that your address be correct on the records.
HOW TO VOTE ABSENTEE:
All qualified voters are permitted to vote absentee under Florida Law. You may request an absentee ballot by mail, by telephone (239) 252-8450 and/or click HERE to complete an on-line absentee application form.
SPECIAL FACTS:
Florida is a closed primary state. You may register with or without party affiliation but only registered Democrats or Republicans may vote in their respect party primaries. All eligible registered electors may vote on issues and nonpartisan candidates in party primaries.
Your registration is permanent as long as you remain a resident of Collier County and do not become disqualified due to loss of civil rights.
Books close for new voter registrations 29 days before each election. In order to vote in any election, you must be registered before the books close.
All national, state, and county elections are held in even numbered years. Everglades City holds its municipal election in odd numbered years. Special elections can be scheduled at any time.
Polls are open from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Election Day.
