ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF ID

Florida Statute 101.043 requires a person to bring photo and signature identification before a person can vote.

The acceptable forms of identification are:

  • Florida driver license

  • Florida identification card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles

  • United States passport

  • Debit or credit card

  • Military identification

  • Student identification

  • Retirement center identification

  • Neighborhood association identification

  • Public assistance identification

  • Veteran health identification card issued by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs

  • A license to carry a concealed weapon or firearm issued pursuant to F.S. 790.06

  • Employee identification card issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the Federal Government, the state, a county, or a municipality.

 

The voter information cards received from the Supervisor of Elections office are not considered valid identification for voting.

If a person does not bring an acceptable form of identification, they will have the option to vote a provisional ballot. A person who votes a provisional ballot will be given written notice of his or her rights as a provisional ballot voter. The canvassing board shall determine the validity of the ballot pursuant in accordance with Florida Statute 101.048.
