COME WORK WITH US!

Join the other groups serving our community while raising money for their organization.

The “Adopt-a-Precinct” program is a public/private partnership. Groups “adopt” a precinct by providing volunteers to staff elections for an election cycle and are paid for their work.

Use this as a fundraiser to benefit your organization or a designated charity. It’s also a great team-building opportunity and learning experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Organizations interested in adopting a precinct must be able to recruit 10-12 elections workers ahead of each election.

Election workers must meet the following criteria to participate in elections:

  • Be registered to vote in Collier County;

  • Be able to read and write in English;

  • Complete the orientation program and training sessions;

  • Ability to work a 12-14 hour shift;

  • Deal with the public in a courteous and patient manner;

  • Act in a non-partisan way while working at the polls.

Physical demands include standing, bending, stooping, lifting approximately 40 lbs., adequate vision and manual/physical dexterity. Experience with computers is helpful.

Election workers must work Election Day from 6 a.m. until after the polling place closes (polls are open 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.).

ORIENTATIONS

Each recruited volunteer is required to attend an orientation prior to becoming an Election Worker. An orientation is a one-hour session that provides volunteers an overview of the process and allows our office to obtain critical information from your volunteers including their contact information. Orientations can be conducted during one of your organization’s regularly scheduled meetings, or can be scheduled for your group at our office.

TRAINING REQUIRMENTS

Recruited workers must complete an online training course and receive hands-on training prior to each Election Day. Trainings will be offered approximately 45 days prior to each election. Trainings are between two and four hours depending on the position being served. Training sessions are offered Monday-Friday and are offered between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

BENEFITS

Local organizations can earn between $1,700-$2,600 per election to benefit their charity or fundraiser. Your organization will also receive community exposure through various election-related materials and a sign will be displayed at the polling place on Election Day.

Please complete the online interest form and someone will contact you. You can also email ElectionWorker@CollierVotes.gov or call (239) 252-8052 for more information.
